UTU pngme partnership

What is Pngme?

Pngme is the unified financial data API (Application Programming Interface) for Africa.

The company simplifies customers’ financial data so developers at banks, financial technology companies, and credit bureaus can innovate faster and build better financial products for un/underserved people.

Consumers own their data and give permission to Pngme’s clients to use their data via the Pngme software development kit (SDK).

Pngme is on a mission to give ownership of data back to people, thereby giving equal access to finance and enabling wealth creation for billions of people.

How will UTU and Pngme work together?

UTU and Pngme will work together in a number of ways.

First, Pngme’s API and SDK will be integrated into UTU’s Creditworthiness and Core Trust APIs.

Pngme’s API aggregates data from customers’ bank accounts, USSD SMS usage, location information, and more. Combined with UTU’s artificial intelligence models, the product will dynamically gather and analyze data to ensure accuracy and customer trustworthiness.

Additionally, UTU’s ratings, reviews, and socially-powered recommendation features will be made available to Pngme’s bank and fintech clients. Their clients will be able to integrate our Trust Engine to incorporate ungameable ratings and reviews for their apps, leverage users’ social relationships to deliver personalized product recommendations to increase conversions, and maximize trust of their platforms.

We will also explore the integration and tokenization of Pngme’s data into the UTU Protocol, and vice versa, to enhance the robustness of each solution. Streaming this data into the UTU Protocol can create additional opportunities for users across Africa to earn UTU Trust Tokens by participating in the UTU ecosystem.

Of course, this data integration will be done in a privacy-preserving manner, where users will have full control over their data, who can use it, and how it can be used.

“The combination of Pngme’s data tools and UTU’s AI models will help develop new products and services for the financially underserved. We’re incredibly excited to work with a team that shares our vision for financial inclusion and to build transformative products that have the potential for global impact”.

– Brendan Playford, CEO of Pngme

“UTU and Pngme share similar visions of increasing access to financial services for the underserved while allowing users to maintain and control privacy of their data, so this partnership is perfectly aligned and represents an opportunity to drive growth together. The Pngme team has been so supportive of UTU’s mission, and we are excited to work together to improve both of our products and increase access to finance across Africa and other emerging markets.”

-Jason Eisen, Co-Founder and CEO of UTU

About UTU

UTU’s mission is to become the trust infrastructure of the entire internet, replacing anonymous star ratings, reviews, and scores as the de facto trust mechanisms of our digital lives.
